The Kid

He's not the first kid I've had under my roof, but hopefully he will be the last. Of course, that's what I say every time. This is not to say he's a bad kid. In fact, he's a great kid; I'm just getting too old for this kid business. I love him dearly and I'm very proud of him. It's been a real joy to watch him grow. Although he wasn't living with me at the time, I held him the day he was born. Now, at sixteen, he a strapping six foot two inches with the build of the swimmer and water polo player that he is.

He's in the middle of his second week of his Junior year of high school. He's one of about 650 boys at his all-male Catholic high school. He loves the place and would live up there if I let him.
